The International Journal of Agronomy and Crop Science (IJAACS) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and academic integrity. Our ethical framework aligns with the principles established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and applies to all individuals involved in the publishing process—authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher.
1. Author Responsibilities
-
Originality and Plagiarism: Authors must ensure that their submissions are original and properly cited. Plagiarism, including self-plagiarism, is strictly prohibited.
-
Multiple Submissions: Manuscripts should not be submitted to more than one journal at the same time or published elsewhere.
-
Authorship: All listed authors must have made substantial contributions to the work. Anyone who contributed but does not meet authorship criteria should be acknowledged.
-
Conflict of Interest: Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest that may affect the research or its interpretation.
-
Accuracy: Authors are responsible for the accuracy of data and results presented. Fabrication or manipulation of data constitutes misconduct.
-
Corrections and Retractions: If significant errors or misconduct are found after publication, authors must promptly inform the editorial office for appropriate correction or retraction.
2. Editorial Responsibilities
-
Fair and Unbiased Evaluation: Editors evaluate manuscripts based solely on academic merit, without discrimination.
-
Confidentiality: Submitted manuscripts are treated as confidential documents. Editors must not share content with anyone outside the review process.
-
Conflict of Interest: Editors will not handle manuscripts in which they have a conflict of interest.
-
Editorial Decisions: The final decision on manuscript acceptance or rejection rests with the Editor-in-Chief, based on reviewer feedback and journal policy.
3. Reviewer Responsibilities
-
Confidentiality: Manuscripts must be treated as confidential. Reviewers should not share or discuss the content with anyone outside the editorial process.
-
Objectivity: Reviews must be conducted objectively and constructively. Personal criticism is not acceptable.
-
Timeliness: Reviewers should adhere to the agreed timeline or notify the editor in case of a delay.
-
Acknowledgment of Sources: Reviewers should identify any relevant published work that the authors have not cited and report any ethical concerns, including plagiarism or data fabrication.
4. Publisher Responsibilities
-
Integrity of the Record: Thomson & Ryberg Publications ensures the permanent availability and preservation of published content.
-
Ethical Oversight: The publisher is responsible for investigating all allegations of misconduct and taking appropriate action (e.g., corrections, retractions).
-
Transparency and Accessibility: The publisher ensures that publication ethics policies are clearly communicated and publicly accessible.
